Everyone, I mean most everyone knows Batik, the clothing or also recognized by wearable beautiful art form. There are a several styles from other region such as, Chinese Batik, African Batik, Ukraine Batik or American style Batik. All styles which I mentioned before have the same basis, but every region has different complexity of finishing process to apply. But to be honest, the most detailed and the most beautiful Batik can only be found on Java, Javanese Batik the origin of Batik.

The word Batik itself can be roughly translated as wax painting. The artist takes his brush to draw the plain fabric with wax to prevent certain area during the dye dip process. The fabric is vary either silk or cotton, otherwise the original Java Batik used mostly cotton. Due to the process and method of batik, an authentic batik can be viewed on either side of the fabric. The essential tool for creating the Batik is Canting, a specific tool which has developed to draw traces in details what the pencil drawing shows. The canting is filled with a liquid mixture of wax and need to be kept at a certain temperature to maintain in liquid form, but still pasty. This wax then will be able to penetrate the fabric and for area with the chosen color will be allowed, will actually dip the fabric.

After dye bath, the fabric is then will be hung to dry. Once the color is totally dry, the fabric will be boiled to remove the wax. This method of secrecy brings out the vibrancy of the colors.
